My Favorite Season – Fall
Fall is nature’s grand finale—a final burst of color before winter’s rest. From red maple trees and orange pumpkins to the kaleidoscope of fallen leaves, it’s a season alive with warmth and wonder. It’s also the season that introduced me to the remarkable quince—a fragrant fruit between an apple and a pear. A friend shared a few from her backyard, and as I slowly cooked them into quince paste (membrillo), their exquisite floral aroma filled the air. The scent was so captivating that it inspired me to capture it with my new copper distiller—sparking the idea for my first naturally crafted fragrance and product line.

The Benefits of Quince Hydrosol
Quince hydrosol is a gentle, antioxidant-rich floral water that soothes, hydrates, and refreshes the skin. Naturally balancing and mildly astringent, it helps calm irritation while leaving the complexion soft and radiant. Its light, fruity-floral aroma uplifts the senses, making it an elegant addition to facial mists, toners, or natural skincare blends inspired by the quiet beauty of autumn.

First Impression:
Unlike rose water, the distinct floral aroma of quince becomes subtler when blended with other ingredients. This formulation uses mango butter instead of shea butter, making it suitable for those with sensitive or reactive skin. Based on initial testing, it provides hydration comparable to the essence made with rose water and shea butter. Thanks to the lighter texture of mango butter, it also appears to absorb slightly faster into the skin.

Aftershave, Anti-Aging Cream, and Eczema Relief Cream

Development Note:
Future research will focus on expanding the Quince Line to include soothing and restorative skincare products. The goal is to harness the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and hydrating properties of quince hydrosol and other natural botanicals to create a gentle aftershave, a nourishing anti-aging cream, and a calming cream suitable for sensitive or eczema-prone skin.
